I’m going to talk about two famous people that are very important for my career and an extinct animal.
I have divided my talk into three parts:
Firstly I would like to talk about Manuel Elkin Patarroyo.
Secondly I want to talk about Alfonso Caycedo, and Finally I will talk about the blue whales.
First of all I am going to talk about Manuel Elkin Patarroyo
Manuel Elkin Patarroyo (born November 3, 1946) is a Colombian pathologist who developed the world's first synthetic vaccine for malaria, a disease transmitted by mosquitos that affects millions of people in the Third World every year. The vaccine was evaluated in clinical trials carried out by the WHO in Gambia, Tanzania and Thailand, and had mixed results. The vaccine has been proven effective at around 30 percent of the times and could save an estimated 1 million lives out of an annual death toll of 3 million; which is the most effective vaccine against malaria to this day.
Patarroyo studied medicine at the National University of Colombia, received a scholarship to Yale University.

Alfonso Caycedo was born on November 19, 1932. He is a Colombian neuro-psychiatrist and the founder and creator of sophrology. Professor Caycedo is the head of 'Sophrocay International', and is based in Andorra, Barcelona and Bogotá, where he teaches the upper levels of sophrology training.
Caycedo was working as a psychiatrist in Spain just after World War II and became frustrated with the way traumatised war victims were treated with pills and chemicals, many of which had worse side-effects than the illness itself. Caycedo began to look for a better way of healing them. He also observed the effects of the sometimes violent treatments used in psychiatry at the time (for example, insulin comas, electric shock therapy without anesthetics), and began to question the necessity of modifying or altering the consciousness in this way. He researched other options and turned initially to clinical hypnosis. In 1959, he created the Spanish Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis in Madrid.
And to finish I want to speak about the blue whales.
The Blue whales are the largest creature of the sea, in fact, it is the largest creature known to man. Contrary to what most people think, even though Blue whales live in the sea, they are mammals. They breathe air, have their babies born alive and can live anywhere from 30 to 70 years. Blue whales grow up to about 80 feet (25m) long on average, weighing about 120 tons. The females are generally larger than the males, this is the case for all baleen whales. ^The largest specimen found was a female 94 feet (29m) long weighing more than 174 tons^ (Satchell 1998). The head of the Blue whale forms up to a quarter of the total body length. Compared with other rorquals, the head is very broad. The blue whale heart is the size of a small car and can pump almost 10 tons of blood throughout the body. They have a very small, falcate (sickle-shaped) dorsal fin that is located near the fluke, or tail. Blue whales have long, thin flippers 8 feet (2.4m) long and flukes that are 25feet (7.6m) wide.

About the Presentation...
What was the presentation about?
The presentation was about Rio de Janeiro – Brazil. They spoke about some generalities, activities that you can do in that place, and gave to us some advices that we may take into account.
What did you learn about it?
I learned that Rio de Janeiro is a beautiful city, and is located near to sao Paulo in Brazil.
It is visited for much people during the year and if you want go, you must spend a lot of money to be happy.
What is your opinion about it?
I think that the presentation was excellent because the expositors were very well prepared and they made a good job.

Mi name is Juan Felipe. I am going to talk about Honda – Tolima
I have divided my talk into three parts:
Firstly I am going to talk about generalities.
Secondly I am going to talk about some activities that you can do in this place, and finally I will talk about some advices you may take into account.
First of all, I am going to talk about generalities.
Honda is a city located in north of Tolima, near Bogotá. It has warm climate. Its average temperature is 27C. People in Honda – Tolima are very kind, you can find there very good restaurants in which you can taste typical food from that region.
The city is well organized; it is decorated with beautiful central parks. The most attractive thing is the Church of Honda that is on of the most ancient churches in Colombia.
Secondly, I am going to talk about some activities to do depending on which time of the year you visit Honda, for example if you go in February, you can enjoy the carnival of the Subienda in which not only Honda is involve also the near towns are invited to enjoy this carnival. In the other hand if you go in October you can enjoy the national festival of the river, one of the oldest festivals in Colombia. It reminds the ritual that natives did in order to have better harvest.
In order to conclude, we are going to talk about some advice. You must take plenty of money just in case you buy souvenirs or if you want to go to near by towns. Also you must consider the weather. You may have to take clothes for rainy weather.
Finally you must go with a good attitud in order to enjoy the city.

Honda is a city located in north of Tolima, near Bogotá. It has warm climate. Its average temperature is 27C. People in Honda – Tolima are very kind, you can find there very good restaurants in which you can taste typical food from that region.
